Who needs teeth whitening?

People who’s teeth darken over time with age or erosion from acidic food. Its like developing dark spots on your facial skin. If you feel that your teeth color appears dull and yellow, do consider teeth whitening for a radiant smile.

How does teeth whitening work?

Your dentist will first take Xrays and conduct an oral examination to check if you have gum disease or tooth decay. As teeth whitening is an esthetic procedure, we will need to make sure your teeth are HEALTHY first! You don’t want white unhealthy teeth!

Your dentist will then provide personalised advice on the most suitable type of whitening and inform you of potential side effects if any. It’s all about informed decisions and the part you play in your own dental health.

Generally, in-office teeth whitening procedures are well tolerated and done under expert supervision.  Take home whitening kits are also available in our office. Bleaching trays are fabricated and you will be prescribed whitening gels to be applied to your teeth before you sleep.

A point to note: Using online or store bought kits without supervision could lead to severe sensitivity, especially if your teeth have unnoticed cracks. Be cautious when using products not recommended by your dentist!
